History

Mackenzie Maritime traces its origins to one of the pioneer British companies in East Africa; the Smith Mackenzie & Company.
An overview of our timeline is presented here:

1872: Smith Mackenzie & Company was established, operating as a general merchant and agents of the British Indian Steamship Company.

1951: Smith, Mackenzie & Company expanded their operations to be the agents for Peninsular & the Oriental Steam and Navigation Company  

1955: Smith Mackenzie relocated to Kenya and operated as Mackenzie (K) Ltd. Mackenzie was concentrating mainly in ship agency as well as stevedoring through a subsidiary company

1970: Mackenzie Maritime established-dedicated to mainly operating as a shipping & clearing agent providing transport & warehousing services

2007: Renamed to Mackenzie Maritime E.A. Limited, offering complete logistics  solutions.
